Atrakcyjność turystyczna obiektów militarnych w Górach Sowich

In the past, Poland was a place of many battles and armed conflicts. Therefore it abounds in places of military interest which often contribute to the attractiveness of a given region. The military installations in the Sowie Mountains were built by the Nazis during World War II. They are a part of the Riese complex and their underground shafts were dug out by the prisoners from the Gross-Rosen camp.This paper aims to assess the tourist appeal of the Riese complex and its surroundings. All the installations can be divided into those that have been developed and adapted for tourists, and the ones that have not been made accessible to the public meets the needs of tourist movement.Rational management of the Riese complex and its surroundings significantly enhances the tourist appeal of this military installation. As a result, the tourist image of the Sowie Mountains region is also improved.

Polska, będąc w przeszłości miejscem wielu bitew i konfliktów zbrojnych, dysponuje znacznym potencjałem obiektów militarnych. Często stanowią one o atrakcyjności danego miejsca. Znajdujące się w Górach Sowich obiekty wchodzące w skład kompleksu Riese zostały wybudowane przez hitlerowców w czasie II wojny światowej. Do drążenia tych podziemnych sztolni wykorzystywano jeńców obozu Gross-Rosen.Niniejsza praca zawiera ocenę atrakcyjności turystycznej kompleksu Riese i jego otoczenia. Wszystkie obiekty można podzielić na zagospodarowane pod kątem turystyki oraz niezagospodarowane i nieudostępnione dla zwiedzających. Badania terenowe przeprowadzone w 2011 roku pozwoliły stwierdzić, że stan udostępnionych sztolni w dużym stopniu odpowiada potrzebom ruchu turystycznego.Racjonalne zarządzanie kompleksem Riese i otaczającej go przestrzeni znacząco podnosi atrakcyjność turystyczną tego zabytku militarnego, przyczyniając się również do poprawy turystycznego wizerunku sowiogórskiego regionu.
