Role of the nurse above the patient with the acute renal failure

Acute renal failure or acute kidney injury is often the reason of patients'hospitalization. A large percentage of ill patients can acquire renal failure as the complication of other diseases. These circumstancescan prolong the period of hospitalization. The diagnosis of the reasons of acute renal failure is very important although the causes are sometimes very complex and the disease can have either light or severe symptoms or it can develop without any symptoms at all. A nurse who wants to deliver to a patient the professional nursing auxiliary must require knowledge, experience and other relevant abilities because only the continuous and accurate observation of patients helps in quick diagnosis and implementation of the effective treatment. This chapter reveals the trial of presentation how important is the role of a nurse taking care of a patient who suffers from acute renal failure. Besides this work comprises of the short description of the clinical treatment both the conservative and renal replacement therapy in the form of hemodialysis.

Ostra niewydolność nerek (ONN) lub ostre uszkodzenie nerek (OUN) jest częstą przyczyną hospitalizacji pacjentów. Duży odsetek chorych "nabywa" ostrą niewydolność nerek, która rozwija się jako powikłanie towarzyszące innym chorobom przedłużając tym samym okres hospitalizacji. W powstawaniu ONN ważne są przyczyny wywołujące, które niekiedy są złożone, a sama choroba może mieć przebieg łagodny, bezobjawowy lub bardzo ciężki. Zapewnienie choremu profesjonalnej opieki pielęgniarskiej wymaga od pielęgniarki wiedzy i doświadczenia oraz odpowiedniego podejścia pielęgnacyjnego, ponieważ ciągła i dokładna obserwacja chorego przyczynia się do szybkiego rozpoznania i wdrożenia skutecznego leczenia. W niniejszym materiale podjęto próbę przedstawienia istotnej roli jaką pełni pielęgniarka opiekując się pacjentem z ostrą niewydolnością nerek. Ponadto praca ta zawiera krótki opis postępowania leczniczego, zarówno zachowawczego jak i nerkozastępczego w postaci hemodializy.
