The economic development of Lublin Voivodeship from 2005 to 2010

Praca zawiera definicję regionu oraz możliwe kryteria wydzielania regionów. Zdefiniowano w niej również pojęcie rozwoju gospodarczego, określono czynniki go determinujące i przykładowe mierniki. W pracy dokonano też statystycznej analizy wybranych wskaźników rozwoju gospodarczego województwa lubelskiego. Praca przedstawia również teoretyczne zagadnienia dotyczące analizy taksonomicznej. Przeprowadzono analizę taksonomiczną z wykorzystaniem odległości euklidesowej i miejskiej. Na podstawie tej analizy ustalono, że województwo lubelskie należy do grupy czterech najsłabiej rozwiniętych polskich województw. W pracy wykorzystane zostały dane pochodzące ze strony internetowej Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego oraz pozycje książkowe z literatury przedmiotu.

The master's thesis includes the definition of region and the possible criteria for it distinction. The concept of economic development was defined and determinants and measures of it were characterized. In the thesis the chosen indicators of economic development of Lublin Voivodeship were analysed. The thesis also describes theoretical issues of taxonomic analysis. The taxonomic analysis using Euclidean and city block distances was conducted. Based on this analysis it was found that the Lublin Voivodeship belongs to the group of four least-developed Polish regions. In the thesis the data came from Central Statistical Office's website and broad literature was used.
