Inicjatywy folkowe na Śląsku. Próba prezentacji

The purpose of this MA (Master of Art) thesis is to present activities of the group of people who are involved in creation and development of the Silesian folk movement. This thesis contains the most crucial problems concerning polish folk music. The area of research were the following cities of Upper Silesia: Katowice, Chorzów, Rybnik. What is more, the thesis encompasses not only the presentation of various events, workshops and bands but also the analysis of the relationship between the participants. In addition to this, the research focuses also on specifying the organization and motivation of the given group of people. On the basis of conclusions derived from the participant observation a special model of communication occurring in the described community has been suggested.

Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej jest przedstawienie działalności osób zaangażowanych w tworzenie śląskiego ruchu folkowego. Praca prezentuje podstawową problematykę związaną z wtórnym obiegiem muzyki tradycyjnej we współczesnej kulturze polskiej. Terenem badań były następujące miasta Górnego Śląska: Katowice, Chorzów, Rybnik. Oprócz przedstawionych wydarzeń, warsztatów, zespołów dokonana została analiza relacji między uczestnikami, sposobu funkcjonowania oraz motywacji. Na podstawie wniosków z obserwacji uczestniczącej opracowano model komunikacji występujący w opisywanej społeczności.
