Zimnowojenne konflikty w okresie prezydentury J.F. Kennedyego (1961-1963)

Celem pracy jest wyjaśnienie, dlaczego USA angażowały się w sytuacje sporne na całym świecie. W związku z powyższym zostanie omówiona kwestia realizacji doktryny zimnowojennej oraz poczucia odpowiedzialności Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki za los innych krajów. Poszczególne wydarzenia z tego okresu zostaną opisane zarówno z perspektywy amerykańskiej, jak i radzieckiej. Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony został rywalizacji między supermocarstwami na przestrzeni lat 1945-1960, objęciu władzy przez J. F. Kennedy’ego i jego spojrzeniu na dotychczasowe zimnowojenne problemy. Rozdział drugi przedstawia historię drugiego kryzysu berlińskiego oraz obrazuje, jak odmienne były cele USA i ZSRR względem nie tylko Berlina, ale i podzielonych Niemiec. Trzecia część pracy dotyczy amerykańskiego zaangażowania w Wietnamie, ukazując przede wszystkim nieefektywność prowadzonej tam polityki. W rozdziale czwartym, na podstawie historii kryzysu kubańskiego, została pokazana ewolucja postawy J. F. Kennedy’ego – od nierozważnej decyzji o inwazji w Zatoce Świń aż po zabiegi dyplomatyczne mające na celu zmniejszenie ryzyka wybuchu konfliktu nuklearnego.

Aim of the study is to explain why the United States engaged in contentious situations around the world. Therefore, the issue will be discussed implementation of the doctrine of the Cold War and the sense of responsibility of the United States for the fate of other countries. The individual events of this period will be described from the perspective of American and Soviet. The work consists of four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the rivalry between the superpowers over the years 1945-1960, taking power by JF Kennedy and the Cold War look at the current problems. Chapter two presents the story of the second Berlin crisis and shows how different were the goals of the U.S. and the Soviet Union, not only in Berlin, but also divided Germany. The third part of the work concerns the American involvement in Vietnam, showing mostly ineffective policies pursued there. In the fourth chapter, based on the history of the Cuban missile crisis, was shown the evolution of attitudes JF Kennedy - the misguided decision to invade the Bay of Pigs to the diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing the risk of nuclear conflict.
