Zachowania zdrowotne wśród homoseksualistów

Zachowania zdrowotne osób o orientacji homoseksualnej są wciąż jeszcze niedostatecznie opisane, a co za tym idzie rodzą wiele pytań i wątpliwości. Dotychczas przeprowadzone badania zachowań zdrowotnych wśród tej grupy osób pochodzą najczęściej ze Stanów Zjednoczonych. Jednak mogą być one nieadekwatne do wyników przeprowadzony w grupie polskiej populacji osób homoseksualnych z racji innego środowiska kulturowego, przekonań oraz tradycji. Celem pracy było poznanie zachowań zdrowotnych osób o orientacji homoseksualnej. Otrzymane wyniki przeprowadzonych badań mogą posłużyć lepszemu zrozumieniu środowiska osób homoseksualnych w Polsce.Ponad połowa badanej populacji wyraża troskę w stosunku do stanu własnego zdrowia. Zależność ta jest wyższa w grupie osób homoseksualnych w porównaniu z grupą biseksualną. Należy zwrócić szczególną uwagę na bardzo wysoki stopień występowania myśli samobójczych sięgający 69% oraz podejmowanych prób samobójczych na poziomie 25% badanej populacji osób homoseksualnych.

Health behaviours of homosexuals are phenomena recently having a very large publicity in media because of debates about equality parades, legalization of homosexual marriages and the right to adopt children. However, they are still poorly described, thus a lot of questions and doubts raise around the topic. So far, studies on the health behaviors of this group of people come mostly from the United States. They could be different with those that would be carried out in a group of the Polish gay population because of different culture, beliefs and traditions.The aim of my thesis is to investigate health behaviours, lifestyle, and diseases affecting homosexuals. The results of research may be used to better understand the environment of homosexual people in Poland. More than a half of the population examined is concerned about their health. This dependence is higher among homosexuals compared with bisexuals. Particular attention should be paid to a very high degree of suicidal thoughts, reaching 69% of suicide attempts at 25% of the population of homosexuals examined.
