Czy można stworzyć ontologię bez przedmiotów nieistniejących?

This paper discusses the problem whether it is possible to establish an ontology with non-existent objects. First section is about object theory created by Alexius Meinong, which is an example of a theory that accepted ontology with non-existent objects. Second section introduces the most important arguments against this theory, formulated by Bertrand Russell and W.V.O. Quine. The aim of the third section is to determine if, despite of difficulties, establishing such ontology is beneficial and what changes should be made in order to maintain such ontology.

W pracy omówione zostało zagadnienie możliwości skonstruowania ontologii zawierających przedmioty nieistniejące. Przedstawiony został przykład teorii, która przyjmowała taką ontologię w postaci teorii przedmiotu Alexiusa Meinonga, a także związane z nią obszary problematyczne. Następnie zostały przeanalizowane najważniejsze argumenty przeciw tej teorii, sformułowane przede wszystkim przez Bertranda Russella i W.V.O. Qune’a. Celem pracy było stwierdzenie, czy pomimo trudności, stworzenie ontologii zawierającej przedmioty nieistniejące jest korzystne oraz jakich ewentualnych zmian należy dokonać w teorii, aby jej utrzymanie było możliwe.
