Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is the most common type of cancer in children. The child have to be examined by the doctor often due to weakness, loss of appetite, bone pain, and signs of infection. Cancer brings with it the need to comply with long-term often painful and inconvenient treatment. Dealing with a child suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia requires the inclusion in the treatment of numerous specialized therapeutic team. The aim of the examination is to identify and treat the underlying disease, and the prevention and elimination of complications associated with the disease are being used with chemotherapy. The paper presents a case of a boy of fifteen with a diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The aim of this study is to identify health problems for a child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and develop a model of care based on the theory of Dorothea Orem.

Ostra białaczka limfoblastyczna jest najczęstszym typem nowotworu wieku dziecięcego. Dziecko zgłasza się do lekarza najczęściej z powodu osłabienia, braku apetytu, bólami kostnymi, oraz z objawami infekcji. Choroba nowotworowa niesie za sobą konieczność podporządkowania się leczeniu długotrwałemu, bolesnemu i uciążliwemu. Postępowanie z dzieckiem cierpiącym na ostrą białaczkę limfoblastyczną wymaga włączenia do leczenia licznego, wyspecjalizowanego zespołu terapeutycznego. Celem jego działania jest rozpoznanie i leczenie choroby podstawowej, oraz profilaktyka i eliminowanie powikłań związanych istotą choroby oraz z zastosowaną chemioterapią.W pracy przedstawiono przypadek piętnastoletniego chłopca z rozpoznaniem ostrej białaczki limfoblastycznej. Celem pracy jest wyłonienie problemów zdrowotnych dziecka z ostrą białaczką limfoblastyczną, oraz opracowanie modelu opieki w oparciu o teorię Dorothei Orem.
