Does homo sovieticus still exist? Two generations of miners after twenty years of change

The passage of more than two decades since the beginning of the transformation process in Poland, political, economic and social is a good opportunity to look again at the same direction, both which took implemented the changes, as well as their social resonance.The purpose of this paper is to answer the question of whether there are any differences between the two generations of miners in these personality traits (such as, fatalism, passivity, materialism, egalitarianism) that make up the syndrome described in sociology, as homo sovieticus or socialist mentality.

Upływ ponad dwudziestu lat od zapoczątkowania w Polsce procesów transformacji politycznej, gospodarczej oraz społecznej jest dobrą okazją do tego aby ponownie przyjrzeć się zarówno samemu kierunkowi, jaki przybrały wdrożone wówczas zmiany, jak również ich społecznemu rezonansowi.Celem niniejszej pracy jest próba udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy istnieją jakieś różnice pomiędzy dwoma pokoleniami górników w zakresie tych cech osobowościowych (takich jak roszczeniowość, fatalizm, pasywność, materializm, egalitaryzm), które składają się na syndrom opisywany w socjologii, jako homo sovieticus bądź mentalność socjalistyczna.
