THE SKY PIASTOWSKIE – A CULTURAL PHENOMENON OF THE POLISH INDEPENDENT CINEMA

Niniejsza praca jest poświęcona twórczości niezależnej grupy filmowej Sky Piastowskie z Zielonej Góry. W rozdziale pierwszym scharakteryzowano zjawisko kina niezależnego i podjęto próbę określenia jego pola definicyjnego, a także zaprezentowano sylwetki charakterystycznych twórców. W rozdziale drugim przedstawiona została geneza powstania i rozwój grupy Sky Piastowskie na przestrzeni lat. Twórczość ich została podzielona na trzy etapy wewnętrznej metamorfozy. W trzecim rozdziale natomiast, ukazano społeczno-kulturowy wpływ działalności grupy na lokalną społeczność miasta Zielona Góra, a także oddziaływanie na nurt całego kina niezależnego w kraju. W pracy wykazano, że Sky Piastowskie to ikona polskiej sceny kina niezależnego.

The present dissertation is dedicated to the creative activity of the independent film group Sky Piastowskie from the city of Zielona Gora. The first chapter characterizes the phenomenon of independent cinema and attempts to identify the definitional field and also presents profiles of specific artists. The second chapter presents the genesis of the formation and development of the group Sky Piastowskie over the years. Their works has been divided into the three stages of internal metamorphosis. The third chapter illustrates the impact of socio-cultural activities of the group on the local community of Zielona Gora, as well as the impact on the trend of independent cinema in the country. Finally, it has been shown that the Sky Piastowskie is a Polish icon of independent cinema scene.
