W pracy pt. „Filozofia muzyki w <> Jarosława Iwaszkiewicza” podejmuję zagadnienie filozofii muzyki polskiego pisarza powstałej na marginesie schyłkowych "Opowiadań muzycznych". Przedmiotem badania jest sześć utworów, których analiza dowodzi: partyturowości tekstu literackiego osiąganej za pomocą użycia technik kompozytorskich; występowania symboliki muzycznej charakteryzującej stany wewnętrzne bohaterów, pejzaż, różnorodną gamę zjawisk; inspirację filozofią europejską. Interpretacja "Opowiadań muzycznych" przez pryzmat europejskiej myśli filozoficznej (Platon, Arystoteles, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Adorno, Eggebrecht, Dilthey, Kierkegaard) pokazuje, że muzyczność literatury u Iwaszkiewicza jest przejawem patchworkowego stylu opartego na muzycznym sposobie opisywania świata i muzycznej ekspresji literackiej.
In thesis “The Philosophy of Music in Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz’s <>” I am undertaking the issue of Iwaszkiewicz’s philosophy of music developed in his prose, diversified and condensed in the last book of "Musical Stories". Thesis begins with the Iwaszkiewicz’s biography based on the close friendship with Karol Szymanowski, vast musical interests, his substantive knowledge about composing and frequent attendance to different concerts of classical music. The analyse includes historical context, the methods by which musicality can be shown in the writing text, musical symbolism and the last but not least, an emerging music philosophy which is hidden behind author’s beliefs shown as musical motivation of text. The author of thesis shows Iwaszkiewicz’s inspirations by philosophy of Plato, Aristotle, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Dilthey, Adorno, Kierkegaard and many more. Nonetheless, the analysis of six stories shows, that Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, on the margins of its literature, has created a philosophical system which is a contamination of European philosophical thought, filtered through biography, musical and literary mode of perception of reality. The figure of Iwaszkiewicz-philosopher, musician and writer at the same time has a patchwork structure but creates a coherent whole.
