The use of cosmetics and methods for the determination of selected metal ions and their compounds

Niniejsza praca zawiera w swojej treści charakterystyki fizykochemiczne wybranych pierwiastków (miedź, cynk, żelazo, glin, magnez, srebro) i ich związków. Omówiono możliwość wykorzystania określonych reakcji charakterystycznych dla jonu danego pierwiastka w analizie jakościowej. Opisano znaczenie fizjologiczne pierwiastków w organizmie, objawy niedoboru i nadmiaru. Dokonano charakterystyki roli wybranych jonów metali i ich związków w preparatach kosmetycznych. Na podstawie dostępnej literatury wyszczególniono podstawowe metody analityczne stosowane w analizie ilościowej opisywanych metali i ich związków.

This work presents physical and chemical characteristics of the selected elements (copper, zinc, iron, aluminum, magnesium, silver) and their compounds. The possibility of the application of specific ion reactions characteristic for a given element in qualitative analysis has been discussed. The physiological role of the elements in the body, signs of deficiency and excess have been described. Characteristics of the role of metal ions and their compounds in cosmetic formulations has been presented. Based on the available literature the basic analytical methods used in quantitative analysis of described metals and their compounds have been specified.
