Przedstawienia Komunii Św. Onufrego w zachodnioruskim malarstwie ikonowym

Praca ta poświęcona jest przedstawieniom Komunii św. Onufrego w zachodnioruskim malarstwie ikonowym. Ma ona na celu wyjaśnienie popularności tego tematu i wskazanie źródeł ikonograficzno-kompozycyjnej formuły tematu. W pierwszej części znajduje się skrótowe omówienie dróg, jakimi kult św. Onufrego przenikał na tereny polskie, w drugiej – uporządkowanie materiału ikonograficznego wraz z podstawowymi wypływającymi z takiego uszeregowania wnioskami, zaś w trzeciej – możliwa geneza tematu Komunii św. Onufrego, czyli zestawienie wschodnich i zachodnich formuł obrazowania, a także duchowości obu tych kręgów kulturowych. Wreszcie zamieszczone są wnioski wynikające z wcześniejszych rozważań. Tereny pogranicza kulturowego są niezwykle interesującym obszarem badawczym. Jednym z przejawów barwnej kultury kresowej jest właśnie obrazowanie Komunii św. Onufrego.

The thesis concerns the representations of St. Onuphrius’ communion in west Russian icon painting. Its aim is to explain the popularity of this subject in the icon painting in 17th and 18th century and to trace its iconographical and compositional sources. The first part treats of St. Onuphrius’ veneration which reveals in the number of church dedications and saint’s depictions. The second part organizes the paintings by their iconography and topographic location. The third part is a deliberation of St. Onuphrius’ communion’s origin by comparison with the other representations of communion in art . St. Onuphrius communion is an excellent example of combination of western and eastern culture – their iconography, spirituality and trends. Borderland is a place where many different influences and inspirations merge and coexist. The representation of St. Onuphrius’ communion is one of the best proofs of this interaction.
