Model of perioperative care for a school-aged child with cardiomyopathy.

Kardiomiopatia jest chorobą mięśnia sercowego o nieokreślonej etiologii. Obejmuje strukturalne i czynnościowe anomalie serca. Częstość tej choroby wynosi około 1,1- 1,2 na 100 tysięcy pacjentów. W przeciągu dwóch lat od rozpoznania tej choroby odsetek pacjentów wymagających przeszczepu serca wynosi 40%, w przeciwnym razie dochodzi do zgonu. Celem pracy było przedstawienie modelu opieki nad dzieckiem z kardiomiopatią w wieku szkolnym w okresie okołooperacyjnym. W opracowanym modelu przyjęto strukturę procesu pielęgnowania, uwzględniając: problemy zdrowotne, cel opieki i interwencje pielęgniarskie. Wdrożenie opracowanego modelu do praktyki może zapewnić wyższy poziom opieki nad dzieckiem z kardiomiopatią.

Cardiomyopathy is a disease of a cardiac muscle of an undetermined etiology. It applies both to the structural and the functional anomalies of the heart. The frequency of this disease is around 1.1 -1.2 in 100 thousand patients. Within two years from the recognition of this disease the percentage of patients requiring heart transplanting amounts to 40%, otherwise death occurs. The goal of this work was to present the model of care for a school-aged child with cardiomyopathy during the perioperative period. In the developed model a structure of nursing process was adopted. This model takes into account: health problems, aim of the care and nursing interventions.Implementation of developed model into practice may provide a higher standard of care of child with cardiomyopathy.
