Kobayashi Issas writings in relation to Jōdo Shinshū Buddhism.

Celem pracy jest odszukanie oraz poddanie analizie związków twórczości poetyckiej Kobayashiego Issy z buddyzmem Jōdo shinshū. Przedstawiona zostaje sylwetka i zarys twórczości Kobayashiego Issy oraz historia i filozofia buddyzmu Jōdo shinshū. Na podstawie tych informacji wykonana zostaje analiza poszczególnych utworów haiku. Głównym pytaniem postawionym w tej pracy jest to, czy twórczość Issy wykazuje związki z nauką Jōdo shinshū, a jeśli tak, to jakiej natury. Rezultatem tych poszukiwań jest wniosek o wysoce spersonalizowanym sposobie obrazowania myśli buddyjskiej w utworach Issy.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the nature of the relationship between Kobayashi Issa’s poetry and Jōdo Shinshū Buddhism. The paper presents a detailed account of Issa’s life and writings, as well as the development and the main concepts of Jōdo Shinshū on which the analysis of Kobayashi Issa’s haiku poems is conducted. This analysis has as its main purpose the answer to the questions about the nature of the relationship between Issa’s work and Jōdo Shinshū. This pursuit results in a conclusion that Issa’s portrayal of the Buddhist thought is a highly personalized one.
