Women in managerial positions - a way to the top, factors and price of success.

Praca licencjacka zawiera informacje na temat kobiet na kierowniczych stanowiskach, ich drodze na szczyt, czynnikach powodzenia i cenie sukcesu. Podzielona została na trzy rozdziały. W pierwszym rozdziale zostały przedstawione teoretyczne aspekty związane z tematem pracy, poruszono w nim zagadnienia związane z rolą managera w procesie zarządzania oraz sukcesem w zarządzaniu, mocnymi stronami i barierami udziału kobiet w zarządzaniu. W drugim rozdziale opisano sytuację kobiet w zarządzaniu w Polsce i na świecie. W trzecim rozdziale przedstawiono wyniki badania przeprowadzonego wśród kobiet pracujących na kierowniczych stanowiskach w powiecie brzeskim. W pracy dowiedziono, że nadal istnieją bariery udziału kobiet w zarządzaniu. Dwie najważniejsze z nich to stereotypy oraz trudność w zrównoważeniu pracy z życiem rodzinnym. Panie muszą walczyć o swoje pozycje, ale są równie świetnymi managerami co mężczyźni.

The BA thesis contains information concerning women in managerial positions, their way to the top, factors and price of success. It has been divided into three chapters. The first chapter presents the theoretical aspects related to the thesis and shows the issues of the role of manager in management process and success in management, strengths and barriers to the participation of women in management. In the second chapter the situation of women in management in Poland and in the world has been described. The third chapter presents the results of a survey which was conducted among women in managerial positions working in the district of Brzesko. This paper proves that there are still barriers to women’s participation in management. The two most important of these are stereotypes and the difficulty of balancing work and family life. Women must fight for their success, but they are also as great managers as men.
