Internet censorship in South Korea. The intensification of the phenomenon after 2008.

Nevertheless, it is also a country that uses substantially Internet censorship.The existence of control mechanisms in the country has its roots in the past, both historical and cultural. Confucianism, the Korean War, the struggle against communism - all these elements contributed to the censorship.Emergence of the Internet has allowed to extend the censor activities among the new media. Intensification of the phenomenon in South Korea after 2008 revealed that not only the past, but also the current socio-political situation has an impact on censorship on the Internet. This led to significant consequences, and has raised a debate on freedom of speech in this country.
