Balkkan music - an image of the centuries-old and multicultural tradition of the countries of Southeast Europe.

Celem pracy jest zbadanie zależności występujących pomiędzy tradycją i historią państw Południowo-Wschodniej Europy, a współczesną muzyką bałkańską. Podjęto próbę zdefiniowania Bałkanów, w ujęciu geograficznym, językowym oraz historyczno-kulturowym. W szczególności analizie poddano istniejące na Bałkanach zwyczaje muzyczne, wyszczególniono cechy muzyki regionu, w oparciu o ich genezę, a także zbadano w jakim kierunku rozwija się ta gałąź kultury. Podstawowe pytanie, na jakie próbowano odpowiedzieć brzmiało: czy zasadnym jest postrzeganie muzyki Bałkanów jako muzyki etnicznej, stanowiącej żywy obraz przeszłości?

The aim of this study is to investigate the relations between the tradition and history of countries of South-Eastern Europe, and the contemporary balkan music. It was made an attempt to define the Balkans in the geographical, linguistic, historical and cultural heritage context. In particular, it was analyzed the balkan existing music habits, the music characteristics of the region specified on the basis of their origin, as well as tested in which direction this branch growing culture. The basic question which it was attempted to answer was: there is a reasonable perception of Balkan music as ethnic music, which is a vivid image of the past?
