Między ciałem a umysłem: patologie kobiece w literaturze francuskiej drugiej połowy XIX wieku (Zola, Goncourt, Rachilde).

Niniejsza praca porusza temat patologii kobiecych w literaturze francuskiej drugiej połowy XIX wieku. Rozważania skupiają się w szczególności na utworach, które, będąc efektem zainteresowania badaniami naukowymi, prezentują przypadki perwersyjnej seksualności, wzbudzając tym samym wiele kontrowersji wśród dziewiętnastowiecznej opinii publicznej, przyzwyczajonej do postrzegania kobiety przez pryzmat jej roli w społeczeństwie. Analizując wybrane aspekty powieści Emila Zoli (Nana, La Curée), Julesa i Edmonda Goncourtów (Germinie Lacerteux), a także Marguerite Eymery, znanej szerzej pod pseudonimem Rachilde (Monsieur Vénus), chcielibyśmy zaprezentować różne rodzaje patologii, rozumiane jako perwersje natury fizycznej jak i psychicznej.Pierwsza część pracy porusza zagadnienia teoretyczne związane z postrzeganiem kobiety i jej seksualności w XIX wieku. Dalsza część poświęcona jest analizie patologii przedstawionych w wyżej wymienionych utworach, podzielonych na dwie grupy. Zaczniemy od perwersji związanych z fizycznym aspektem kobiecej seksualności, by następnie poruszyć problem zaburzeń psychicznych rozumianych jako dwoistość charakteru.

The following thesis deals with the feminine pathologies in French literature of the second half of the 19th century. Deliberations focus mainly on the works which, being the result of the interest in scientific research, present the cases of perverse sexuality, therefore giving rise to a lot of controversies among the 19th-century public opinion, accustomed to perceiving a woman from the angle of her role in the society. Analysing the chosen aspects of the novels of Emile Zola (Nana, La Curée), Jules and Edmund de Goncourt (Germinie Lacerteux) as well as Marguerite Eymery, better known under a pseudonym Rachilde (Monsieur Vénus), we would like to present various kinds of pathologies understood as perversions of both physical and psychological nature.The first part of the thesis brings up the theoretical issues connected with perceiving a woman and her sexuality in the 19th century. Further part deals with the analysis of pathologies presented in the above mentioned works, divided into two groups. We will start with the perversions associated with the physical aspect of feminine sexuality and then raise the problem of mental disorders understood as the duality of character.

La présente étude aborde la question des pathologies féminines dans la littérature française de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle. Nous nous concentrerons surtout sur les œuvres qui, en s’appuyant sur les études scientifiques, présentent les cas de la sexualité perverse, ce qui suscite beaucoup de controverses dans l’opinion publique du XIXe siècle, habituée à la perception de la femme par rapport à sa fonction dans la société. En analysant les aspects choisis des romans d’Émile Zola (Nana, La Curée), de Jules et Edmond Goncourt (Germinie Lacerteux) et de Marquerite Eymery, mieux connue sous le nom de Rachilde (Monsieur Vénus), nous voudrions présenter différents types de pathologies, comprises comme des perversions physiques et psychiques.La première partie du mémoire aborde des questions théoriques liées à la perception de la femme et de sa sexualité dans le discours du XIXe siècle. Ensuite, nous passerons à l’analyse des pathologies dans les œuvres en question, en les divisant en deux groupes. Nous commencerons par des perversions liées à l’aspect physique de la sexualité féminine, pour parvenir à la fin à la question des troubles psychiques compris comme la dualité du caractère.
