The gypsy poetry in anthropological perspective - Izolda Kwiek and her 'Żal'

Praca podejmuje kwestię twórczości mniejszości etnicznej Romów w Polsce. Analiza tomu Żal Izoldy Kwiek stanowi próbę zbadania wyobraźni poetyckiej w kontekście dwóch kultur, na styku których znajduje się autorka wierszy. Praca porusza także problem wypowiedzi mniejszości w dyskursie kultury dominującej. W tym celu wykorzystywane są narzędzia badań kulturowych. Przy pomocy kategorii antropologicznych, etnologicznych, czy lingwistycznych badane jest zjawisko poskiej literatury cygańskiej.

The work raises the question of output of ethnic minority of Romanies in Poland. The aim of analysis of Izolda Kwiek’s volume ‘Żal’ is to examine poetic imagination in the context of two cultures, which are components of author’s identity. The work also presents the problem of minority’s utterance in dominant culture’s discourse. Therefore strategy of cultural studies is used. The anthropological, ethnological, linguistic categories serves to research into the phenomenon of polish gypsy literature.
