Anthropological aspects of autobiographical comics - theory and interpretation

Autor pracy stara się zanalizować komiks z perspektywy szeroko rozumianej antropologii kultury. Koncentruje się przy tym przede wszystkim na komiksie autobiograficznym. W pierwszym rozdziale medium komiksu zostaje przywołane w kontekście koncepcji antropologii obrazu Hansa Beltinga. W rozdziale drugim analizie poddany jest natomiast komiks autobiograficzny w ogóle. Kolejne rozdziały stanowią interpretację poszczególnych dzieł komiksowych: trawelogów Craiga Thomsona i Guya Delisle'a, reportażu Joego Sacco, oraz psychologicznych "Rycerzy św. Wita" Davida B. Całość pracy kończy podsumowanie.

Author of this thesis is trying to analize comics from anthropological perspective. The main target here are autobiographical comic books. In chapter one, the medium of comics is being brought up in context of Hans Belting's anthropology of picture. Chapter two however analizes the autobiographical comic itself. Next chapters consist of interpretation of particular comic books: travelogs from Craig Thompson and Guy Delisle, reportage from Joe Sacco, and psychological "Epileptic" from David B. Thesis is being summarized in the conclusion.
