Voices in the philosophical and legal debate on the admissibility of the death penalty

The purpose of this master's thesis is to comprehensively and objectively present voices of both supporters, and opponents of the death penalty and situate them in the philosophical, historical and legal context. It is supposed to lead to showing that even though the number of abolitionist and retentionist arguments might seem to be similar, it is not an amount, but the power of arguments that has a primary importance, and it speaks in favor of the supporters of the abolitionism.

Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest kompleksowe i obiektywne przedstawienie głosów zarówno zwolenników, jak i przeciwników kary śmierci, oraz usytuowanie ich w kontekście filozoficznym, historycznym oraz prawnym. Doprowadzić ma to do wykazania, że choć liczba argumentów abolicjonistycznych i retencjonistycznych może się wydawać podobna, to nie ilość, ale moc argumentów ma zasadnicze znaczenie, ta zaś przemawia na korzyść zwolenników abolicjonizmu.
