The history of County and City Public Library the name of Maria Fihel in Miechów

The work depicts the history of County and City Public Library in Miechów. First, the history and the location of Miechów and its surrounding area is presented and next the history of the library, which was founded in 1923. The library activity over the years until the present day is described. It is observed that the changes in the library were dependent on political changes in Poland. Finally, the third section presents the contemporary activities of the library, among others: meetings with authors, a book club, workshops and courses. An important event in the history of the library was its computerization, which was carried out in 2003.

Praca przedstawia dzieje Powiatowej i Miejskiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Miechowie. W rozdziale pierwszym omówiono historię i położenie miasta Miechowa i jego okolic, następnie historię biblioteki, która została założona w 1923 roku. Ponadto opisana została działalność biblioteki na przestrzeni lat do dnia dzisiejszego. Można zauważyć, że zmiany w bibliotece były uzależnione od zmian politycznych w Polsce. Trzeci rozdział przedstawia współczesną działalność biblioteki, m.in.: spotkania autorskie, klub książki, warsztaty i kursy. Ważnym wydarzeniem w historii biblioteki była jej komputeryzacja, która została przeprowadzone w 2003 roku.
