AbstractFirst of all, the subject of this dissertation are rewards and punishments conditions in education used by parents. The aim of the following thesis was to investigate the correlation between the use of parental rewards and punishments and how they evaluate their educational value. What are the circumstances of applying it and how useful is their knowledge of the principles of effective punishment and reward using. The main issue of my thesis are rewards and punishments conditions in education used by parents. Other issues concerned: the kinds of rewards and punishments used by parents; what punishments and rewards parents use towards to their children; in what situations they use rewards and punishments; how respondents evaluate the effectiveness of rewards and punishments and how useful is parents’ knowledge of principles of using rewards and punishments.94 respondents took part in the research. The group consisted of parents whose children attend III and IV grade in primary school in Dąbrowa Górnicza. The research was conducted through questionnaire.On the basis of conducted empirical analysis it can be certified that parents knew many kinds of rewards and punishments. They firstly think before any action taken. Parents were able to appreciate the effectiveness of ad hoc rewards and punishments. Unfortunately, they do not take a holistic reflection on the system of punishment and reward. Women were more empathetic. They paid attention to the context, they were guided by intuition, sensitivity, and individual approach to a child. Whereas, men wanted to be fair and follow the rules.

Streszczenie pracyTematem niniejszej pracy są „Uwarunkowania stosowania przez rodziców kar i nagród w wychowaniu”. Celem niniejszego opracowania było poznanie korelacji pomiędzy stosowaniem przez rodziców kar i nagród a tym, jak oceniają ich wychowawczą wartość, w jakich okolicznościach je stosują oraz jaką mają wiedzę w dziedzinie zasad skutecznego karania i nagradzania. W niniejszej pracy problem główny skonstruowany jest w następujący sposób: Jakie są uwarunkowania stosowania przez rodziców kar i nagród w wychowaniu? W następstwie powstania problemu głównego wyróżniono następujące problemy szczegółowe: Jakie rodzaje kar i nagród rodzice znają? jakie kary rodzice stosują wobec własnych dzieci? jakie nagrody rodzice stosują wobec własnych dzieci? W jakich sytuacjach ankietowani stosują kary i nagrody? jak badani oceniają skuteczność stosowanych nagród i kar? jaka jest wiedza rodziców o zasadach karania i nagradzania wychowawczego? Badania zostały przeprowadzone za pomocą ankiety. Grupę badawczą stanowili rodzice uczniów klas III i IV szkoły podstawowej w Dąbrowie Górniczej. W sumie w badaniach uczestniczyło 94 respondentów. Po analizie badań można stwierdzić, że rodzice znają wiele rodzajów kar i nagród. W doborze tych środków rodzice kierują się głębszą refleksją. Rodzice potrafią doraźnie docenić skuteczność stosowanych kar i nagród, natomiast w dłuższej perspektywie czasowej nie podejmują holistycznej refleksji dotyczącej systemu karania i nagradzania. Kobiety są bardziej empatyczne zwracają uwagę na kontekst, kierują się intuicją, wyczuciem oraz indywidualnym podejściem do dziecka. Mężczyźni chcą być sprawiedliwi, przestrzegać zasad.
