Two generations of Zakliczyns inhabitants and their opinion on foreigners

Celem pracy było ukazanie obrazu cudzoziemca funkcjonującego w świadomości mieszkańców wsi. Aby sprawdzić, czy postawa otwartości i tolerancji wobec obcokrajowców zależna jest od wieku, w badaniach skonfrontowano opinie dwóch pokoleń. Praca podejmuje problem wielokulturowości w Polsce, bada ogólne nastawienie do obcokrajowców i imigracji. Przeprowadzone badania opisują obawy mieszkańców wsi związane z napływem obcokrajowców do Polski, narody mile przez nich widziane, diagnozują także stereotypy i uprzedzenia funkcjonujące w tym środowisku. Ponadto sprawdzają wyobrażenia badanych odnośnie relacji z obcokrajowcami a także ich zainteresowanie kulturą innych krajów. Istotnym elementem pracy jest także porównanie rezultatu z wynikami ogólnopolskich badań o tej samej tematyce.

The aim of the master thesis was to show opinion of village inhabitants on foreigners in Poland. The analysis confronts two generations' points of view to verify whether the open attitude and tolerance depends on the age. The analysis concerns multiculturalism in Poland, examines general attitude towards foreigners and immigration. The project describes concerns of rural residents associated with immigration, the nations which are welcome as well as stereotypes and prejudices operating in this environment. Besides, it shows relationships with foreigners as well as interests in culture of other countries. Moreover, the analysis includes comparison of the results of nationwide surveys of the same theme.
