The subject of my work is the influence of religious conversion experience on the identity of the individual, which I examined by narrative interviews .Modernity poses a huge challenge - man is forced to build their identity , drawing on the almost unlimited possibilities of choice, while being devoid of clear rules , principles, values , which could make these choices guided . Set of guidelines , saying not only what to do, but also how and why , can deliver Religion, thus becoming , the basis of the identity of those with an unlimited number of possibilities, chose " the path of faith."Religious conversion experience strongly influences the identity of the individual. Changing the way of perception the world around her and herself. Conscious choice of faith is associated with the searching , which motivate a traumatic experience , or simply the loss of the sense of life , a sense of emptiness, failure , helplessness. This causes the individual redefines the world, based on the principles , norms and values that this religion is imposed . The identity of the convert 's identity centered around faith and constantly referring to it in all spheres of life. Relationship with God and offered by religion " eternal life" become the purpose of converts , who are willing to submit all their activities , but also thoughts and feelings. God satisfy the need for love , security , a sense of purpose , support, acceptance and a sense of infinity and the religious community satisfy the need for belongingness and brotherhood. The Catholic religion meets the spiritual needs of converts, they could not meet the beyond, and therefore voluntarily adopt prevailing the rules and ways of explaining reality and human nature. The principal value for converts is love , which is a reflection of the relationship with God. Religious conversion also affects on beliefs and behavior of individuals and convertinging their lives.
Przedmiotem mojej pracy jest wpływ doświadczenia konwersji religijnej na tożsamość jednostki, który badałam metodą wywiadów narracyjnych.Nowoczesność stawia przed człowiekiem ogromne wyzwanie- zmuszony jest budować swoją tożsamość, czerpiąc z niemal nieograniczonych możliwości wyboru, będąc jednocześnie pozbawiony jasnych reguł, zasad, wartości, którymi mógłby się w podejmowaniu tych wyborów kierować. Zestawu wytycznych, mówiących nie tylko, co robić, ale też, w jaki sposób i dlaczego, może dostarczać Religia, stając się tym samym, podstawą tożsamości tych, którzy z nieograniczonej ilości dróg, wybrali „drogę wiary”.Doświadczenie konwersji religijnej silnie wpływa na tożsamość jednostki. Zmienia sposób postrzegania przez nią otaczającego świata oraz siebie samej. Świadomy wybór wiary jest związany z poszukiwaniami, do których motywują traumatyczne doświadczenia lub po prostu utrata poczucia sensu życia, poczucie pustki, niespełnienia, bezradności. Powoduje to, że jednostka redefiniuje swój świat w oparciu o zasady, normy i wartości, które ta religia narzuca. Tożsamość konwertyty jest tożsamością skoncentrowaną wokół wiary i nieustannie się do niej odwołującą we wszystkich sferach życia. Relacja z Bogiem i oferowane przez religię „życie wieczne” stają się nadrzędnym celem konwertytów, któremu gotowi są podporządkować wszelkie swoje działania, ale także myśli i uczucia. Bóg zaspokaja potrzebę miłości, bezpieczeństwa, poczucia sensu, wsparcia, akceptacji oraz poczucia nieskończoności a wspólnota religijna potrzebę przynależności i braterstwa. Religia katolicka odpowiada na duchowe potrzeby konwertytów, których nie potrafili zaspokoić poza nią, w związku z czym dobrowolnie przyjmują panujące w niej reguły i sposoby tłumaczenia przez nią rzeczywistości i natury ludzkiej. Nadrzędną wartością wyznawaną przez konwertytów jest miłość, będąca odbiciem relacji z Bogiem i rzutująca na relację z ludźmi. Konwersja religijna wpływa również na przekonania i zachowania jednostek, przekształcając całe ich życie.
