The role of the father in the upbringing of children

Przedmiotem badań było uzyskanie informacji na temat miejsca jakie zajmuje i roli jaką spełnia ojciec w wychowywaniu dzieci. Celem głównym badań był opis i analiza relacji między ojcem a dzieckiem. Chciano ustalić jakie czynności opiekuńczo-wychowawcze są wykonywane przez ojców oraz poznać techniki wychowawcze wykorzystywane przez opiekunów płci męskiej. Głównym problemem badawczym było pytanie: Jaką rolę w opinii badanych spełnia ojciec w życiu dziecka? W pracy wyróżniono także problemy szczegółowe, które brzmią:•Jak wyglądają relacje między dzieckiem a ojcem?•Czy istnieje obustronne zaufanie ojców i dzieci?•Jak ojciec jest postrzegany przez badane dzieci?•Jaki jest zakres kontroli i wymagań ojców względem swojego dziecka?•Czy i na jakim tle wybuchają w rodzinie konflikty między dzieckiem a ojcem oraz w jaki sposób są one rozwiązywane?W pracy ze względu na udział w badaniu młodych jednostek (dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym) oraz ich ojców wykorzystano dwie techniki badawcze. W przypadku dzieci był to wywiad, a w przypadku ojców – ankieta. Na potrzeby badań stworzono dwa kwestionariusze – jeden dla dziecka, drugi dla ojca. Odnośnie badanej populacji – w badaniu wzięło udział 38 dzieci (22 dziewcząt, 16 chłopców), a także 36 ojców. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że ojcowie poświęcają dużo czasu i uwagi swoim pociechom. Zajmują się ich wychowywaniem, uwzględniając przy tym wiek i potrzeby sygnalizowane przez ich dzieci. Ojcowie starają się sprostać wszystkim wymaganiom, jakie są związane z opieką nad pociechą. Nie mają problemów z wykonywaniem żadnych czynności opiekuńczo – wychowawczych począwszy od zabawy, przez naukę, kończąc na wykonywaniu zajęć domowych. Potrafią w odpowiedni sposób zadbać o bezpieczeństwo i rozwój młodego człowieka. W procesie wychowywania ojcowie nie mają także problemów ze stosowaniem kar i nagród, gdyż wiedzą, że są to metody wychowawcze, które pozwalają rozwijać i kształtować charakter dziecka.

The subject of this research was the relation between father and child/children.Main point of this research was to analyze and document the relation between father and child. Its purpose was to determine what social and educational activities are carried out by fathers, and to understand what social techniques are used by male parents.The Main research problem was formed as a question: what role, in the opinion of respondents, does the father carry in the Childs life. Detailed problems were also pointed out:-how do relations between father and child look like?-does mutual trust between father and child exist?-how is the father perceived by the respondents?-what is the area of control and level of expectations that fathers have towards their children?-do conflicts emerge between father and child? if yes, on what ground and how are they taken care of?In this elaboration, due to the fact that young representatives and their fathers were examined (children from pre-elementary schools and kindergartens), 2 research techniques were used. In case of children, it was an interview, and in case of fathers - a survey. For the needs of this study, 2 questionnaires were prepared, one for the child, and second for the father.About the questioned population - 38 children (22 girls and 16 boys) and 36 fathers took part in the research. The results of this research show that fathers spend lots of time and pay lots of attention to their children. They take active part in upbringing, with respect to the needs and age of their children. Fathers are trying to cope with the needs that are connected with taking care of a child. They do not have any problems with performing various educational tasks, ranging from playing, through education, and up to household maintenance tasks. They are able to take care of safety and development of a child. In the process of upbringing, fathers usually do not have any problems in terms of giving punishments and rewards, because they are aware that those are educational methods which allow development and shaping of Childs character.
