Rozprawa poświęcona jest interpretacji powieści "Możliwość wyspy" Michela Houellebecqa w kontekście kategorii utopii literackiej oraz literatury współczesnej.Analizując tekst, autorka stara się także odnieść się do tradycji filozoficznych i literackich fundujących specyfikę twórczości francuskiego pisarza. The thesis aims at interpretation of Michel Houellebecq "The Possibility of an Island" against the background of category of literary utopia and modern literature. Through the study of Houellebecq's novel the author refers to the philosophy and literature which had an influence on the character of Houellebecq's works.The thesis is followed by an attempt to answer the question if it is possible to create "the perfect world". And if yes - which may be the consequence?
