Model opieki nad pacjentem chorym na akromegalię

Acromegaly is a chronic disease caused by excess secretion of growth hormone. Becouse of the slow evolution of signs and symptoms in many patients, the recognition of acromegaly is a serious diagnostic problem. Symptoms of the disease are multisystemic and have a significant influence on patients life quality.The aim of this study was to investigate nursing problems of patients with acromegaly and to develop a model of nursing care.Thesis consists of two parts. The first part contains the characteristics of clinical aspects of acromegally. It presents the definition, epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and also the main symptoms associated with this disease entity. It also discusses the methods of diagnosis, treatments and prognosis. The second part presents a model of nursing care of patients with acromegaly based on the theory of Dorothea Orem. There are 14 health problems and suggestions of their solutions for nurse. Presented model of care is to facilitate the work of nurse over the patient with this disease entity and it can serve to improve the quality of patients life.The work was completed with summary of conclusions and a list of references for thesis.

Akromegalia to choroba przewlekła uwarunkowana nadmiernym wydzielaniem hormonu wzrostu. Z uwagi na powolny rozwój objawów u wielu chorych rozpoznanie jej stanowi poważny problem diagnostyczny. Ogólnoustrojowe objawy choroby mają znaczący wpływ na jakość życia chorych.Celem pracy było poznanie problemów zdrowotnych chorego z akromegalią oraz opracowanie modelu opieki pielęgniarskiej.Praca składa się z dwóch części. W części pierwszej scharakteryzowano kliniczne aspekty akromegalii. Przedstawiono definicję, epidemiologię, etiologię i patogenezę, a także główne objawy towarzyszące tej jednostce chorobowej. Omówiono metody diagnostyki, sposób leczenia oraz rokowanie. W drugiej części przedstawiono model opieki pielęgniarskiej nad chorym na akromegalię w oparciu o teorię Dorothei Orem. Wyłoniono 14 problemów zdrowotnych i zaproponowano działania pielęgniarki. Przedstawiony model opieki ma ułatwić pracę pielęgniarki sprawującej opiekę nad pacjentem z tą jednostką chorobową, a także poprawić jakość życia chorego.Pracę zakończono podsumowaniem i wnioskami oraz wykazem piśmiennictwa na którym bazowano podczas pisania pracy licencjackiej.
