Nicknames Used by the Students of the University of Zagreb. Semantic Analysis.

Among three classes of personal names (first names, surnames, and nicknames), only the set of nicknames seems to be lexically open, and shows their author’s imagination, perceptiveness and sense of humour. The anthroponimical material presents 178 nicknames provided by students of Zagreb University , which are divided into 6 semantic groups. The majority of them refer to appearance, individual characteristics, favourite activities, habits or to the way of speaking of the individual to which they are given and most of them are ironic, humorous or even express negative emotion.

Przedmiotem pracy są funkcjonujące współcześnie przezwiska, które zostały zebrane wśród młodzieży Uniwersytetu Zagrzebskiego na podstawie ankiety internetowej. W badaniu wzięły udział 44 osoby. Zebranych 178 przezwisk poddano analizie językowej ze względu na procesy nazwotwórcze. Zwrócono uwagę na ich semantykę, genezę, okoliczności powstania oraz na środki językowo-stylistyczne, za pomocą których te antroponimy są tworzone.
