The paper describes the essence of the company, objectives and ways to measure them. The significance of liquidity in  enterprise and methods to establish its level. Shows the definition and types of working capital and management strategies. The paper presents the net working capital as a measure of liquidity, and discuss the relationship between them. This relationship is confirmed by the example of eight companies from the Polish meat industry.

W pracy opisano istotę przedsiębiorstwa, celów jego działania oraz sposoby ich pomiaru. Omówiono znaczenie płynności finansowej w jednostce gospodarczej i metody ustalenia jej poziomu. Zaprezentowano definicję i rodzaje kapitału obrotowego oraz strategie zarządzania nim. W pracy przedstawiono kapitał obrotowy netto jako miarę płynności finansowej i występującą między nimi zależność. Zależność tą potwierdzono na przykładzie ośmiu przedsiębiorstw z polskiej branży mięsnej.
