Mityczna geneza postaci Gandalfa we "Władcy Pierścieni" J.R.R.Tolkiena.

This work is a structuralistic. Its aim is to show the influence of myths on the literature, in particular the fantasy novels, for example, the mythical origins of Gandalf - one of the main characters in the cycle Tolkien "The Lord of the Rings". Introduction presents concept of the work and the most important bibliographic references, all of which benefited the author. The next chapter is an attempt to explain the concept of myth in the context of structuralist anthropology considerations and approximations phenomena influencing myths of fantasy literature. In subsequent chapters, the analysis of various texts and legends of mythical "Eddy poetic", "Tales of the Round Table", "Kalevala" and "Lord of the Rings", which was to explain the form of intertextual contexts Gandalf and compare to each different mythical figures. Last chapter of this work presents the results of the comparative analysis, as well as the functions performed by the myths and the figure of Gandalf.

Niniejsza praca ma charakter strukturalistyczny. Jej celem jest ukazanie wpływów mitów na literaturę, a w szczególności na powieści fantasy, na przykładzie mitycznej genezy Gandalfa - jednego z głównych bohaterów cyklu Tolkiena "Władca Pierścieni". We wstępie zostały przedstawione założenia pracy oraz najważniejsze pozycje bibliograficzne, z których korzystała autorka. Następny rozdział jest próbą wyjaśnienia pojęcia mitu w kontekście rozważań antropologii strukturalistycznej oraz przybliżenia zjawiska wpływania mitów na literaturę fantasy. W kolejnych rozdziałach dokonana została analiza różnych tekstów mitycznych i legend: "Eddy poetyckiej", "Opowieści z Okrągłego Stołu", "Kalevali" i "Władcy Pierścieni", która miała na celu przybliżenie intertekstualnych kontekstów postaci Gandalfa i porównanie do siebie różnych postaci mitycznych. W zakończeniu pracy zostały przedstawione wyniki przeprowadzonej analizy porównawczej, a także funkcje spełniane przez mity oraz postać Gandalfa.
