The role of European Funds in financing economic activity and development of the SMEs

SMEs face many difficulties in conducting business and business development. One of the barrier is to raise the necessary funds. The solution to this problem could be funds provided under the EU funds. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the EU funds and determine their role in financing activities of the SMEs. An important part of this thesis is the analysis of the Programme Innovative Economy 2007-2013, whose implementation has enabled the development of many businesses.

Małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa napotykają wiele trudności w prowadzeniu działalności oraz rozwoju firmy. Jedną z barier jest pozyskiwanie niezbędnych środków finansowych. Rozwiązaniem tego problemu mogą być środki oferowane w ramach funduszy unijnych. Celem pracy jest omówienie funduszy unijnych oraz określenie ich roli w finansowaniu działalności przedsiębiorstw z sektora MSP. W szczególności analizie poddany został Program Operacyjny Innowacyjna Gospodarka 2007-2013, którego realizacja umożliwiła rozwój wielu przedsiębiorstwom.
