Mateusz Pakuła as a dramaturg – the analysis of the artistic dimensions to the dramaturg’s work – case study of theatre production “At the End of Chain”

Niniejsza praca magisterska ma charakter studium przypadku. Twórczość Mateusza Pakuły jako dramaturga w realizacjach teatralnych „Na końcu łańcucha” posłużyła mi do szerszego ujęcia funkcji dramaturga w teatrze, z uwzględnieniem systemu teatralnego w Polsce. Celem pracy jest przyjrzenie się specyfice zawodu dramaturga na przykładzie Mateusza Pakuły, a także uwzględnienie jego możliwości modyfikacji struktury teatru, wreszcie przyjrzenie się w jaki sposób rozbija on sztywne struktury w procesie powstawania dzieła teatralnego.

This M. A. is a case study. I used Mateusz Pakuła as a dramaturg because I wanted to present dramaturg function against the background of the theatre system. I focus on Polish theatre system. The aim of my final dissertation is to look at the specifics of the dramaturg profession and also analysis how his work affects the modifications in the structure of the theater. Finally I look at how it breaks down hard structure in the process of performance.
