The image of the independence of Catalonia in the spanish press

Catalonia is a country about which in Poland little is said and written. In the face of the recent events, which for several years have taken place there, my thesis has been written to explain the problem.In addition to this there are presented attempts to answer the question of why so little information about tons of demonstrations in the region reaches the rest of Europe, the Polish.Thesis oscillates around the hypothesis that the Spanish press, detract from the importance of events in the region of Catalonia, which is why they do not reach a wider audience.Taking as an example the two most important Spanish logs - "El Pais" and "ABC" and Catalan "La Vanguardia", thesis tries to deal with the analysis of the content of the press and audience perception.In view of the very strong regionalism in Spain and the lack of confidence in the national media, in the work have been also taken attempts to understand and explain this phenomenon.In the work there have been used multiple studies that are used to discover the explanation.Methods of obtaining the information included interviews with residents of Catalonia, Madrid, Andalusia and surveys conducted among students of the largest and oldest university in Catalonia - Universitat de Barcelona. There is also included the brief history of the independence of the Catalonia and history of the Spanish press. The issue of the catalonian independence is very controversial, and it becomes a political problem of the growing scale. In this thesis an important matter was objectivity and focus on the analysis of facts and the existing situation.

Katalonia to kraj, o którym w Polsce mało się mówi i pisze. W obliczu wydarzeń o charakterze niepodległościowym, które od kilku lat mają tam miejsce, praca ma na celu przybliżenie problemu. Ponadto próbuje odpowiedzieć na pytanie, dlaczego tak niewiele informacji na temat milionowych manifestacji w tym regionie hiszpańskim dociera do reszty Europy, do Polski. Praca licencjacka oscyluje wokół hipotezy, że prasa hiszpańska, umniejsza rangę wydarzeń w regionie katalońskim, przez co nie trafiają one do szerszego grona odbiorców. Przyjmując za przykładowe dwa najważniejsze dzienniki hiszpańskie - "El Pais" i "ABC" oraz kataloński "La Vanguardia" zajmuje się analizą zawartości prasowej oraz percepcji odbiorców. Wobec bardzo silnego regionalizmu w Hiszpanii i braku zaufania do mediów krajowych w pracy podjęte zostały także próby zrozumienia i wytłumaczenia tego zjawiska.W pracy zostały wykorzystane wielorakie badania, które mają na celu jego wyjaśnienie.Do metod zdobywania informacji zaliczyć należy wywiady z mieszkańcami Katalonii, Madrytu i Andaluzji oraz ankiety przeprowadzone wśród studentów największego i najstarszego uniwersytetu w Katalonii - Universitat de Barcelona.Przybliżona zostaje także krótka historia niepodległości katalońskiej oraz prasy hiszpańskiej.Kwestia uniezależnienia się wspólnoty autonomicznej od reszty Hiszpanii jest bardzo kontrowersyjna i staje się problemem politycznym o powiększającej się skali.W pracy za istotny punkt zostało przyjęte zachowanie obiektywności wobec kwestii niepodległościowej i skupienie się na analizie faktów, autentycznych wypowiedzi odbiorców i zastanej sytuacji.
