W poszukiwaniu tożsamości - trylogia środkowoeuropejska Istvána Szabó

Niniejsza praca przedstawia tożsamość bohaterów w trylogii środkoeuropejskiej Istvána Szabó. Praca dzieli się na cztery rozdziały. W części teoretycznej wyjaśniam czym jest Mitteleuropa. Charakteryzując twórczość Istvána Szabó, przyglądam się ważnemu dla tego reżysera tematowi tożsamości. W dalszej części śledzę powstawanie i kształtowanie jego stylu. Także tam opisuje początki kariery Szabó, jego przynależność do węgierskiej nowej fali i pierwsze nagrody filmowe. W części analitycznej ograniczyłem się do omówienia trzech filmów. Analizuję dzieła „Mefisto”, „Pułkownik Redl” i „Hanussen”. W pracy wziąłem pod uwagę psychologiczne, społeczne i historyczne aspekty. Prezentuję, m.in. kompleks niższości Adlera oraz "ucieczkę od wolności" Ericha Fromma.

The aim of this dissertation is to present the identity of the main characters in the central European trilogy of István Szabó. This work is divided into four chapters. In the theoretical part it has been explained what Middle Europe is. Describing the work of Istvan Szabo, I write about the identity as an important subject for this director. In the following section the process of forming and shaping up of his style was briefly described. Also then I'm describing the beginnings of his film career, his membership in the Hungarian New Wave and his first movie awards. In the analytical part I confined myself to discussing three films. I analyze "Mefisto", "Colonel Redl" and "Hanussen". In this dissertation I took into consideration psychological, social and historical aspects. I present Adler's inferiority complex and escape from freedom by Erich Fromm.
