Religious garb in Małopolska gothic painting

The main aim of this thesis is to describe religious garb on the basis of Małopolska gothic painting. The thesis was divided into three chapters and the appendix. The first chapter describes the current state of the research on Polish outfit in the Middle Ages. The second chapter presents outline of the history of medieval outfit. The third chapter includes the characteristics costume of the selected orders: Benedictine, Cistercian, Dominicans, Franciscan, Bernardine and Augustinian.

Głównym celem niniejszej pracy jest próba scharakteryzowania stroju zakonnego na podstawie małopolskiego malarstwa gotyckiego. Praca została podzielona na trzy rozdziały i aneks. Pierwszy rozdział opisuje dotychczasowy stan badań nad polskim strojem w średniowieczu. Drugi przedstawia zarys historii stroju średniowiecznego. Trzeci zawiera charakterystykę stroju wybranych zakonów: benedyktynów, cysterskiego, dominikanów, franciszkanów, bernardynów i augustianów.
