Niniejsza praca podejmuje temat obcości oraz wielokulturowości, na przykładzie "Szatańskich wersetów" - kontrowersyjnej powieści Salmana Rushdie'go. Autorka stara się pokazać, że zastosowanie metody biograficznej, uwzględniającej osobę autora jest korzystnym przedsięwzięciem. Ponadto wysuwa postulat o dowartościowanie studiów literackich w antropologii.

This paper takes under consideration the topic of alienation and problem of multicultural society in "The Satanic Verses" written by Salman Rushdie. The author of the thesis recommends using biographical method to investigate the novel. Furthermore she postulates that literary studies in anthropology are extremely important endeavour.
