Detroit Rock City - analysis of Detroit rock scene of the late 1960s and the changes in the city

The thesis' topic concerns the way Detroit came to be an important place for the American rock music scene during the 1960s, what the backgrounds of the artists within it were, how the bands started their careers, what were the most important characteristics of their work and what caused the eventual collapse of the whole scene. That analysis is set against the background of the analysis of the history of Detroit, its rise and fall. The author's aim is to compare the fate of the city as a whole and the music scene in this particular period, in order to find parallels between those two phenomena.
