The role of the peace and silent in Cyprian Kamil Norwid and Edgar Allan Poe novels

The purpose of this paper is to explore the features in the works of Cyprian Kamil Norwid and Edgar Allan Poe have categories of silent and stillness. Examined was a creation of character, relationshships and space using silence. In the pages of this work was discussed also the issue of silence with the other categories as a gesture, mystery and death.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest zbadanie tego, jakie funkcje w nowelistyce Cypriana Kamila Norwida i Edgara Allana Poego pełnią kategorie ciszy i milczenia. Analizie poddany został sposób kreacji bohatera, relacji międzyludzkich i przestrzeni za pomocą za pomocą ciszy. a kartach tej pracy poruszone zostało również zagadnienie związków milczenia z innymi kategoriami takimi jak gest tajemnica i śmierć.
