Justification of education in the light of Christian personalism of Karol Wojtyla - Pope John Paul II

Tekst rozważa problem uzasadnienia wychowania w myśli Karola Wojtyły-Jana Pawła II. Przyjmuje się, że koncepcja wychowania obecna w jego tekstach filozoficznych i w działalności duszpasterskiej opiera się na 3 założeniach chrześcijańskiej filozofii osoby. Pierwsze założenie, wedle którego człowiek jest istotą obdarzoną godnością, pozwala uzasadnić sens wychowania jako kształtowania w sobie i w innych człowieczeństwa w oparciu o normę personalistyczną i zasadę afirmacji człowieka oraz rozważać wychowanie jako problem humanistyki. Drugie założenie, zgodnie z którym życie rozumiane jest w kategoriach daru i zadania, uzasadnia nieodłączne wiązanie wychowania z rodziną. Trzecie założenie przyjmujące, że człowiek jest i zarazem staje się osobą przez całe życie, umożliwia uzasadnianie wychowania jako całożyciowego projektu doskonalenia siebie i innych w drodze do duchowej dojrzałości. Tak uzasadnione i opisane wychowanie stanowi cenne źródło wiedzy o naturze bycia i stawania się osobą.

The text considers the problem of justification of education in the works of Karol Wojtyla – John Paul II. It is assumed that the concept of education presented in his philosophical texts and in his pastoral activity is based on three assumptions of Christian philosophy of human person. The first assumption, according to which man is a being endowed with dignity, can justify the meaning of education as shaping humanity in ourselves and in others in accordance with the personalistic norm and with the principle of affirmation and considers education as a problem of the humanities. The second assumption, pursuant to which life is understood as a gift and a task, justifies inherent binding of education with the family. The third assumption, specifying that man is and becomes a person throughout his life, can justify the education as a lifelong project to improve ourselves and others on the road to spiritual maturity. Education justified and described this way, is a valuable source of knowledge about the nature of being and becoming a person.
