Problem obrzezania kobiet w świetle książki Male and Female Circumcision Among Jews, Christians and Muslims: Religious, Medical, Social and Legal Debate Sami’ego Awad Aldeeba Abu Sahlieha oraz przeżyć Waris Dirie w powieści Kwiat Pustyni .

Tematem mojej pracy jest problem obrzezania kobiet. Składa się ona z 4 rozdziałów. W pierwszym rozdziale, który jest wprowadzeniem przybliżam kwestę obrzezania podając jego definicję, rodzaje, pochodzenie oraz miejsca w których występuje. W 2 rozdziale pokazałam stosunek islamu do obrzezania na podstawie fragmentów Koranu oraz hadisów, jak również zbadałam kwestię konieczności bądź dobrowolności tej praktyki oraz jej przyczyny. Kolejny rozdział w całości poświęcony jest Waris Dirie. Przedstawiam w nim jej biografię, doświadczenie związane z obrzezaniem oraz jego wpływ na jej dalsze życie. Ostatni rozdział pokazuje walkę z obrzezaniem organizacji takich jak ONZ, UNICEF, WHO oraz innych organizacji pozarządowych oraz działania, które mogą przyczynić się do zapobiegania tej praktyki.

The theme of my work is the problem of female circumcision. It consists of 4 chapters. In the first chapter, which is an introduction I draw issue of circumcision by giving its definition, types, origin and place in which it occurs. In chapter 2 I showed the ratio of the circumcision of Islam based on the Qur'an and hadith passages, as well as examined the question of necessity or voluntarily of this practice and its causes. Another chapter is devoted to Waris Dirie. I present her biography, experience with circumcision and its impact on her further life. The last chapter shows the fight against circumcision organizations such as ONZ, UNICEF, WHO and other non-governmental organizations and activities that help to prevent this practice.
