Sport media events on the columns of general information press - "Fakt Gazeta Codzienna" and "Gazeta Wyborcza"

The aim of the following MA dissertation is to examine the space and the character of issues concerning sport media events on the columns of general information press. The dissertation is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the concept of the media event was presented along with questions concerning the news values and the selection of information in the press. In the second part, the results of an authorial empirical research were displayed. The research involved a manifest content analysis of materials concerning the three selected Contests published on the columns of “Fakt Gazeta Codzienna” and “Gazeta Wyborcza”.

Celem pracy jest zbadanie miejsca i charakteru problematyki związanej ze sportowymi wydarzeniami medialnymi na łamach prasy ogólnoinformacyjnej. Praca podzielona jest na dwie części. W części teoretycznej przybliżona została koncepcja wydarzenia medialnego oraz zagadnienia związane z wartością informacji i selekcją informacji w prasie. W części drugiej zaprezentowane zostały wyniki autorskiego badania empirycznego – analizy jawnej zawartości przekazu materiałów, związanych z trzema wytypowanymi Konkursami, publikowanych na łamach „Faktu Gazety Codziennej” oraz „Gazety Wyborczej”
