Plume et Charlot- two actors of subconscious

Celem niniejszej pracy jest znalezienie elementów surrealistycznych w utworze Henri Michaux zatytułowanym « Un certain Plume » oraz w kinematografii Charlie Chaplina na przykładzie wybranych filmów: The Kid, The Great Dictator, The Modern Times. W pierwszej części zaprezentowano historię ruchu surrealistycznego wraz z jego głównymi założeniami. Druga część zostala poświęcona Henri Michaux: jego biografii, ogólnej analizie jego stylu artystycznego, a także analizie wspomnianego utworu « Un certain Plume ». Szczególny akcent został położony na elementy surrealistyczne występujące w tym dziele. Na końcu tej części pracy, wspomniano także o artykule napisanym przez Michaux na temat Charlie Chaplina, któremu została poświęcona trzecią część niniejszej pracy. Wspomniano w niej biografię oraz specyfikę stylu Chaplina, aby przejść do analizy wybranych przykładów. Na końcu, podjęto próbę znalezienia relacji pomiędzy trzema wymienionymi osobami: surrealistami, Henri Michaux oraz Charlie Chaplinem.

The aim of this master's thesis is to find the surrealistic elements in « Un certain Plume » of Henri Michaux and cinematography of Charlie Chaplin by using the example of the three films chosen: The Kid, The Great Dictator and The Modern Times. In the first part of our work, we presented the history and principles of the surrealist movement and its inspirations of the previous authors. We devoted the second part of our thesis to Henri Michaux: his biography, general analysis of his artistic style and the analysis of his work « Un certain Plume ». We have focused particularly on surrealistic elements in this work. At the end of this part, we mentioned an article Michaux talking about Charlie Chaplin to pass to the third party that was dedicated to him. We mentioned his biography and specificity of his style to pass to the analysis of specific examples. Finally, we tried to find the relationship between all the three of them: the Surrealists, Henri Michaux and Charlie Chaplin.

Le present mémoire a pour objectif de trouver les éléments surréalistes dans « Un certain Plume » d'Henri Michaux et la cinématographie de Charlie Chaplin en se servant de l'exemple des trois films choisis: The Kid, The Great Dictator et The Modern Times. Dans la première partie de notre travail, nous avons présenté l'histoire et les principes du mouvement surréaliste ainsi que ses inspirations des auteurs précédents. La deuxième partie de notre mémoire, nous l'avons consacrée à Henri Michaux: sa biographie, l'analyse générale de son style artistique ainsi que l'analyse de l'oeuvre « Un certain Plume ». Nous avons mis l'accent surtout sur les éléments surréalistes présents dans cet ouvrage. A la fin de cette partie, nous avons évoqué un article de Michaux parlant de Charlie Chaplin afin de passer à la troisième partie qui lui était consacrée. Nous avons mentionné sa biographie et la spécificité de son style pour passer à l'analyse des exemples concrets. Enfin, nous avons essayé de trouver les relations entre tous les trois: les surréalistes, Henri Michaux et Charlie Chaplin.
