Le verlan, la troncation et la siglaison comme manifestations de la langue des cités dans les chansons du rappeur Booba

Le rap est l’une des manifestations de la culture hip-hop qui constitue un composant important du paysage culturel contemporain. La présente analyse esquisse tout d’abord les origines du hip-hop. Né aux ghettos noirs des États-Unis comme une alternative pour les jeunes qui désormais pouvaient canaliser leur énergie dans la création artistique au lieu de se lancer dans les activités délinquantes, le hip-hop a fait son entrée en France dans les années 1980. Le mouvement est devenu la voix des cités et des quartiers sensibles qui, déjà à cette époque-là, se distinguaient par la diversité culturelle et linguistique des habitants. Le rap est, dès lors, un reflet fiable de la langue des cités. L’analyse des trois procédés lexico-morphologiques, caractéristiques de ce langage – du verlan, de la troncation et de la siglaison – tend à démontrer cette affinité. L’étude propose donc de passer en revue une vingtaine des chansons du rappeur français Booba pour examiner les particularités des procédés mentionnés, tout en mettant en évidence l’aspect lexical des mots analysés.

The rap is one of the manifestations of the hip-hop culture, an important element of the contemporary cultural landscape. The present analysis shows in the first place the beginnings of hip-hop. The movement has emerged in the black ghettos in the USA as an alternative for young people. Since then, they have had the possibility to put their energy into the artistic creation instead of choosing delinquency. Hip-hop has arrived in France in the 1980’s to become the voice of the suburbs and sensitive neighborhoods that already at that time were known for being a mix of different cultures and languages. Therefore, rap reflects their lingo called the language of the streets. The analysis of its three typical phenomena: verlan, truncation and initialisms is supposed to prove this relation. The study proposes to look into 20 songs of the popular French rapper Booba in order to examine the mentioned linguistic aspects, showing lexical characteristics of the particular words.

Rap to jeden z przejawów kultury hip-hop, która stanowi istotny element współczesnego pejzażu kulturowego. Analiza przedstawia w pierwszej kolejności początki hip-hopu. Ów ruch narodził się w gettach Afroamerykanów w Stanach Zjednoczonych, jako alternatywa dla młodych ludzi. Swoją energię mogli od tamtej pory przekuć w twórczość artystyczną, co miało zniwelować wśród tej grupy poziom przestępczości. Hip-hop dotarł do Francji w latach 80. XX wieku, stając się tam głosem przedmieść i uchodzących za niebezpieczne dzielnic, które już wtedy cechowały się ogromną różnorodnością kulturową i językową mieszkańców. Rap stanowi więc wierne odzwierciedlenie używanego przez nich języka – języka przedmieść. Analiza trzech charakterystycznych dla niego zabiegów: „verlanu” oraz tworzenia skrótów i skrótowców, ma za zadanie pokazać to podobieństwo. Praca proponuje przegląd 20 piosenek popularnego francuskiego rapera Booby pod kątem użycia wymienionych zabiegów, pokazując zarazem aspekt leksykalny analizowanych słów.
