Affective Potencial of Silence in Contemporary Theater

In this thesis, I would like to make a reflection on the silence in contemporary theater. I mainly focus on the relationship between category of silence and affects. My research is based on the analysis of the play „The Dybbuk” directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski (2003). I analyze the silence in the Warlikowski’s performance in terms of the potential of affective, as well as examine whether and how affects can moticate silence in the communication.

W niniejszej pracy magisterskiej chciałabym podjąć rozważania na temat milczenia we współczesnym teatrze, a przede wszystkim skupić się na relacji kategorii milczenia i afektów. Swoje badania oprę na analizie spektaklu „Dybuk” w reżyserii Krzysztofa Warlikowskiego z 2003 roku. Postaram się zanalizować milczenie w przedstawieniu Warlikowskiego pod kątem potencjału afektywnego, a także zbadać, czy i jak afekty mogą milczenie w sytuacji komunikacyjnej motywować.
