The condition and functioning of the tram network in Poland

W podróżach tramwajowych stosunek kosztu infrastruktury i prędkości jest rekompensowany wygodą podróży i dostępnością. Niestety, w polskich sieciach tramwajowych korzyści płynące z tej formy transportu nie zawsze są wykorzystywane. Funkcjonowanie sieci tramwajowych jest różnie rozumiane i zarządzane w Polsce, jednocześnie obniżając jakość usług transportowych. Inwestycje takie jak odnowienie pojazdów, regularna rozbudowa sieci i zwiększenie liczby kursów mogą korzystnie wpłynąć na transport zbiorowy – co za tym idzie ograniczenie ruchu samochodowego.

Among the possibilities of urban transport, tram transport is the most sustainable. In trams, the cost of infrastructure and speed is compensated by the convenience of travel and availability. Unfortunately, in Polish tram networks, the benefits of this form of transport are not always used. The functioning of tram networks is understood and managed diversely in Poland, at the same time reducing the quality of transport services. Investments such as vehicle renewal, regular network expansion and an increase in the number of courses can have a positive impact on public transport - thus reducing car traffic.
