Génitrix – powieść o samotności

The aim of this paper is to investigate the influence of loneliness in François Mauriac’s life on his works. The author analyses the structure of the story and the characters in his novel Génitrix, considering his solitude in childhood and adolescence. The loneliness was interpreted as an illness. The paper describes few types of loneliness that the characters suffer and a cure, which – according to Mauriac – could take away their pain.

Le but de ce mémoire de licence est d’examiner le rapport entre la solitude dans la vie de François Mauriac et ses œuvres. L’auteur a analysé la construction de la narration et de la psychologie des personnages du roman Génitrix en rapport avec le sentiment de solitude qui a accompagné Mauriac lors de son enfance et sa jeunesse. La solitude a été interprétée comme une maladie dont souffrent les personnages de Génitrix. L’auteur a distingué quelques types de solitude et la cure qui pourrait, selon le romancier, aider les personnages

Niniejsza praca ma na celu zbadanie wpływu samotności w życiu François Mauriaca na jego twórczość literacką. Autorka poddała analizie konstrukcję fabuły i psychologię postaci jego powieści Génitrix i zinterpretowała je w kontekście osamotnienia pisarza w okresie dzieciństwa i młodości. Samotność bohaterów została zinterpretowana jako choroba, na którą cierpią. Wyodrębnione zostało kilka jej typów oraz remedium, które według powieściopisarza mogłoby ukoić ich cierpienia.
