Establishment of the National Museum in Krakow and outline its activities in the years 1879-1900

The paper contains a description of the establishment of the National Museum in Krakow and the process of formation and development of the institution. Starts with outline the historical background of the then Krakow. Next presents a summary of the history of the Cloth Hall, the course of work on their renovation and dedicates half floor of the Cloth Hall for the National Museum. The next part of the thesis describes the establishment and first years of activity of the museum. The main part of the thesis show description of the activities of the National Museum in Cracow in the years 1887-1900, describe the major events, organized exhibitions and purchases enriching museum's collection. The conclusion contains a summary of the thesis.
