Socio-cultural and pedagogical phenomenon of travelling and tourism

Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W pierwszym z nich podróżowanie i turystyka zostały opisane z socjologicznej i filozoficznej perspektywy. Omówiono różnice między dwoma tytułowymi zjawiskami oraz obecnie popularne formy podróżowania. Poruszono także kwestie związane z autentycznością zjawisk turystycznych oraz sposobami ich doświadczania. Drugi rozdział dotyczy podróżowania i turystyki w kontekście pedagogicznym. Przeanalizowano, jaki wpływ mają omawiane fenomeny na samowychowanie, działania pedagogiczne oraz rozwój krajów. Przedstawione zostały również dwa przykłady dobrych praktyk lokalnych poszerzających wiedzę o kulturze, związanych z turystyką. Rozdział trzeci podsumowuje treści zaprezentowane w pracy.

The thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter the author describes travelling and tourism from the sociological and philosophical perspective, then she compares these two phenomena, points out the differences between them and presents the forms of travelling that are currently popular. The first part of the thesis presents also opinions concerning the authenticity of tourism and the ways of experiencing it. The second chapter describes pedagogical approaches to tourism and travelling. The author shows in what way the aforementioned phenomena influence self-education, pedagogical activities and the development of certain countries. The thesis presents also two examples of good practice that took place in local environments, were connected to tourism and their aim was to broaden cultural knowledge of participants. The third chapter is a summary of the whole thesis.
